We’re delighted to present an afternoon in celebration of Joe Carrick-Varty’s remarkable debut collection More Sky here at Books Upstairs on Sunday 30th April, 2pm. Eric Gregory Award winner, Joe Carrick-Varty will read from More Sky and guest reader Eva Griffin will join him to read her work on the day. Admisison is free and all are welcome to this event.

*****************************************************************Joe Carrick-Varty is a British-Irish poet, writer and founding editor of bath magg. He is the author of two pamphlets of poetry: Somewhere Far (The Poetry Business, 2019) and 54 Questions for the Man Who Sold a Shotgun to My Father (Out-Spoken Press, 2020). His work has appeared in the New Statesman, The Poetry Review and Poetry London. He won an Eric Gregory Award in 2022. More Sky is his debut collection.

Eva Griffin lives in Dublin. Her pamphlets Fake Hands / Real Flowers (2020) and one last spin around the sun (2021) were published by Broken Sleep Books. Her poems have appeared in The London Magazine, The Stinging Fly, bath magg, Poetry Ireland Review, and elsewhere.
