It is our pleasure to present an afternoon of poetry with Simon Costello, Rosamund Taylor and Mark Ward. These talented contemporary poets will read at Books Upstairs at 2pm on Sunday 16th April. Admission is free to this event and all are welcome.

Simon Costello’s poetry has been published in The Poetry Review, New England Review, The Stinging Fly, The Tangerine, Bath Magg, The Rialto, Magma and elsewhere. In 2021, he was awarded the UK’s The Rialto Nature and Place Poetry Prize and the 2021 Poetry Ireland Introductions. His debut pamphlet Saturn Devouring is forthcoming in 2023 from The Lifeboat.

 

Rosamund Taylor is a winner of the Telegraph Poetry Prize 2022, London Magazine Poetry Prize 2020 and the Mairtín Crawford Award for Poetry 2017. Widely published, her work has recently appeared in Butcher’s Dog, Fourteen Poems, Magma, Mslexia, The Rialto and Poetry Ireland Review, and been broadcast on BBC Radio 4. A selection of her poems is included in Queering the Green: Post-2000s Queer Irish Poetry (Lifeboat Press). Her debut collection, In Her Jaws, is published by Banshee Press.

 

Mark Ward is the author of the collection Nightlight (Salmon Poetry, 2023) and four chapbooks: Circumference (Finishing Line Press, 2018), Carcass (Seven Kitchens Press, 2020), the prose/haiku/hybrid HIKE (Bear Creek Press, 2022) and the Choose Your Own Adventure sonnet, Faultlines (voidspace, online 2022/print 2023).
