ABOUT

FRANK O’DOWD was born in Galway and lived most of his life in Dublin. He and his wife May had six children. He was a reluctant businessman, and his real passion was in the creative area – writing poetry, short stories, plays and satire, and occasionally art and song. In another time, writing and scholarship might have been his career.

FRANK MCNALLY is a newspaper reporter and columnist. Born in County Monaghan, he moved to Dublin in his late teens, working for a number of government departments. He later studied journalism at Dublin City University and in 1996 joined the staff of The Irish Times, where he is now the Chief Writer of the daily ‘Irishman’s Diary’ (‘An Irish Diary’) column.
