ABOUT THE BOOK
Already launched in the United States, this volume of new essays on the work of Thomas Kinsella, one of the most significant voices in modern Irish and international poetry, will be launched here by Dr Mary Shine Thompson, followed by reading from The Táin by actor Barry McGovern
Beginning with several chapters devoted to assessing the aesthetic importance of Kinsella’s native Dublin, the new volume traces the evolution of the poet’s work from the early poetry published by the Dolmen Press to the work published in later years by his own Peppercanister Press, as well as consideration of his achievements as translator and anthologist of Gaelic literature.
Essays by Brian Carraher, Lucy Collins, Alex Davis, Gerald Dawe, Andrew
Fitzsimons, Paul Gosling, Hugh Haughton, Adrienne Leavy, Mary O’Malley, Thomas Dillon Redshaw, Gerard Smyth and Derval Tubridy.
